"pieces" was a wonderful read. The time period and area in which the story was told was very interesting especially about the Indians of the area. The mystery associated with the grave site that the boys discovered and all that happened with the pieces that were removed was sometimes chilling and sometimes moving. I highly recommend everyone read "pieces" and watch out for the surprises that happen through out the book,Karen Biery has a wonderful way with suspence and the connection that each character has with the pieces. I had a hard time putting the book down.Product details

Karen Biery's second book is as exciting as her first.It is a fictional mystery full of excitement, suspense and intrigue. You will want to sit and read PIECES from the first to the last page in one reading, then you will want to read it again. I did and then I evaluated my own wants and needs. This beautifully written book gives you this opportunity. If you read believe,you will truly enjoy PIECES.
What a wonderful book! From beginning to end you are kept intrigued and can't put the book down! Recommend to everyone.
I have read two of Karen's books already and they were phenomenal. And this one I bought quite a while ago and have just gotten around to reading it. All I can say is...what took me so long!?! I won't go into description too much, because I hope you will read it and I don't want to give anything away. I couldn't put it down. I've read it in two short days, and am now starting on one of her newer books. I am a fan for life. My only complaint will be after I finish the last two I have of Karen's to read...will be the wait for her to bring another one out.
I got a signed copy by the author and thought it looked like a good book. It turns out, I now have a favorite book! It is great and should be read by anyone who loves historical fiction. Best book I have ever read! Keep them coming Karen Biery!!!!!!!!!
Updated I wrote the last review while half way through the book. This book is by far the best book I have ever read! I love how everything goes very smoothly then it turns around into a twist. It kept me on my toes the entire read!
I was intrigued by the description for this book. I usually like historical fiction but this seemed more like a morality lesson wrapped in a mystery. Really awful things happened to the people in this book, even to Jesse one of the main characters. I agree greed is not a good thing but does one deserve death for thinking greedily? What about being given a chance to mend ones ways? You decide.
